As we move towards brighter times, the most beautiful messenger of spring arrives - the tulip. There are few things that make the home so spring-fresh as a bouquet of crisp tulips, whether you choose white tulips, soft light pink or perhaps a mixed bouquet of tulips in different colors. One of our most loved cut flowers is also the best way to bring in spring.
The season for tulips traditionally starts in conjunction with Tulip Day, which falls on January 15, and lasts until April. Nowadays you can enjoy tulips all year round, but they are at their best when they are in season. The tulip is also unchallenged at the top of the Swedes' favorite flower. Most tulips sold in Sweden are grown here, but the bulbs are mostly imported from Holland. A total of over 160 million tulips are grown in Sweden each year and it is our cool climate that makes the tulip thrive extra well.

In the past, tulips were often placed in special vases that had cavities for each stem. These vases would show the beauty of each flower, they were a sign of wealth as tulips were expensive and not a flower everyone could afford. Vases of this type have become trendy again and can be found in many home and interior design stores.
Anyone who has had a bouquet of tulips at home knows that they continue to grow in the vase. They stretch towards the light and can get significantly higher in just a few days. Some therefore prefer not to mix the tulips with other flowers, but just a little green in the form of eucalyptus or a few olive branches. Others love the effect of naturally vibrant and lush tulips, combined with, for example, ranunculus or lilies. Why not mix with what nature has to offer in the form of twigs from springy trees or beautiful blueberry rice?
